Among them is comedian Chris McCausland, who will make history as the competition's first ever blind contestant.

Other names that have now been announced include JLS star JB Gill, TOWIE legend Pete Wicks, Love Island's Tasha Ghouri, 80s singer Toyah Willcox, Go Compare opera star Wynne Evans and Scots media medic Dr Punam Krishan. However, fans appear to not be impressed by this year's 'celebs' as they have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to brand the current line up as a 'joke'. Reality stars, Pete Wicks and Tasha Ghouri were the most recent stars to be confirmed this morning but many devoted Strictly fans are not happy with this decision as they have called for 'real' celebrities to be added to the line up.

One viewer fumed: "#StrictlyComeDancing line up so far is a joke!! What used to be a ticket full of stars, is now a ticket full of reality stars - Tasha, Pete even Wynne...
