A star has bid farewell to the flagship channel after five years with an emotional statement online. On Monday (August 12), Radio Birmingham and Black Country star Elise Evans took to social media to share her latest career move. The presenter confirmed she is stepping down from the station and her final show is just weeks away.

It’s fair to say her decision came as a surprise to her loyal fanbase. Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – she shared a series of highlights throughout her career at the station. The brunette beauty beamed beside many of the famous guests she has welcomed on the show including Niall Horan, Fleur East and Greg James.

Alongside the sweet snaps, she shared an emotional statement to her loyal fanbase. She wrote: “I’m leaving @bbcwm. What a mad five years! Highs and lows but got to work with some lovely folk and had some brill experiences.

“Time for some new adventures. Last show is 25 August and we’re going out with a BANG! More info coming soon! For now, Radio WM – thanks for the memories,” which she signed off with a kiss. It didn’t take long before her famous friends and adoring fans showered her with congratulatory messages online.
