BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay couldn't hide his dismay on Tuesday morning as his colleague made a peculiar plea. During the broadcast, sports presenter John Watson was updating viewers with the latest sports news. An interview featuring England cricket captain Heather Knight was shown, where she shared the team's experiences on tour, including her and Nat Sciver belting out 'Summer Nights' together abroad.

Following the footage, John remarked: "I think I'd be singing if I was leaving this weather behind, wouldn't you?" Interrupting him, Jon Kay sharply responded: "Please don't John, please don't! " Appearing slightly dejected, his colleague shot back: "Come on, can't I? Please come on!" Yet, it appears the BBC presenters might just showcase their singing chops off-air in the near future, reports the Express . Jon went on to mention: "Nina (Warhurst) has been talking about organising a karaoke night, so maybe your time has come?" As John laughingly said he'd take inspiration from Jon, laughter erupted on set. With eagerness, he exclaimed: "Let's do it together!" Curious about his karaoke song of choice, Sarah Campbell probed her co-star for an answer.

Keeping his karaoke preferences under wraps during the show, he answered: "No, no phones allowed for that particular performance I think!" Wrapping up the banter briskly, Sarah continued to giggle as the topic changed. Replacing Jon's regular partner, Sarah has been co-hosting BBC Breakfast alongside him throughout the week. Sally Nuge.
