The 62 year old TV star tied the knot for the second time with police officer Steve Randal last December. Although the day was perfect, the weather was not on the couple's side.

The pair, who first set eyes on each other seven years ago, have been inseparable ever since. On Tuesday's (July 23) episode of The One Show , Carol joined comedian Tom Allen and hosts Alex Jones and Anita Rani . She was there to discuss her latest romantic novel, "Once Upon a Time in Venice," but the conversation quickly turned towards her real-life romance.

Anita started off by praising Carol's new book: "You've given us a reason to put down our phones. You have a new novel set in Venice with three women in one of the world's most romantic places." Carol responded enthusiastically: "First of all I love Venice because it has everything.

It's so romantic, it's got history, art, culture and little alleyways as well and when you walk down you can get lost in it and there are no street lights so it's great for hiding little secrets." The focus swiftly turned back to Carol's own romantic journey when Alex chimed in: "Your real life Carol has been quite romantic since we last met. You got married in December.
