Pune: Two men snatched a Bavdhan resident ’s gold chain worth Rs30,000 on Bhugaon Road near Chandni Chowk around 8.30pm while he was returning home on his scooter. The Hinjewadi Police said the duo intercepted the 52-year-old victim’s scooter, claiming that he took a turn without giving an indicator and started arguing with him.

One of them snatched the victim’s chain from his trouser pocket after which the duo fled. One officer from the Hinjewadi police said that the complainant is an employee of a private company and stays in a housing society off Bhugaon Road in Bavdhan. “He was returning home on his scooter from Chandni Chowk.

While turning towards the right, two men, who were following him on a motorcycle, forced the victim to stop,” the officer said. He said that the duo picked up a quarrel with the victim by claiming that he took a turn without indicating. "The pillion rider then approached the victim and began abusing him.

While the victim was trying to talk to the man, the latter frisked him and took out the chain from the pocket of the victim's trousers," the officer said. He said the duo then drove away from the spot. "The victim later approached the police and lodged a complaint," he said.
