Barbara Ann (Erkson) Holland, 87, of Burlington, beloved wife of Charles G. Holland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Hartford on September 29th, 1936, daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret (Dunne) Erkson and grew up in Unionville, graduated from Farmington High School, Class of 1954.
At the age of 15, she first met Charlie at the Lions pool in Unionville, it was love at first sight. Charlie and Barbara married on July 5, 1958. In 1961, they moved the family to Burlington.
After raising their four children, she worked at UConn Health Center and retired after 21 years of employment. She enjoyed all types of motorsports, boating, UConn Basketball, Red Sox, and spending time at Cape Cod with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love for her family.
Barbara’s warm presence and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew her. Besides her husband of 66 years, Barbara is survived by her four children and their spouses, John and Diane Holland of Burlington, Daniel and Jennifer Holland of New Hartford, Anne and Gene Ingvertsen of Cornwall, Lisa and Ronald Turner of Burlington, her sister Patricia and Dr. Robert Bone of Del Mar, CA.
