There were several road accidents over the bank holiday weekend which caused delays for motorists. On Saturday evening, a crash was reported on the A26 between Beddingham and Tarring Neville. The road was blocked and traffic was queueing both ways while emergency services dealt with the incident, which was cleared at around 6.

On bank holiday Monday there were two incidents on main roads. The A23 northbound was blocked between the A27 Brighton and the A273 Pyecombe following a collision involving an overturned vehicle. Traffic was stopped for recovery to take place.

National Highways reported that all lanes were reopened around midday. Finally, the AA reported a stalled vehicle on the A27 near Polegate which was blocking the road. Delays were reported in both directions before the blockage and traffic was cleared at around 1.
