Don’t expect many more major updates for Baldur’s Gate 3. After a solid year of patches and additional content, Larian Studios is officially moving onto its next project. Baldur’s Gate 3 is winding down While still working on fixes for bugs like glowing genitals and patching in new endings , Larian is ready to work on its next game.

In a tease for an upcoming PAX West panel on the game, Larian revealed it’s “closing the book” on BG3. Larian publishing director Michael “Cromwelp” Douse explains this panel will be the last time Baldur’s Gate 3’s development will be discussed. Instead, Larian is going full speed ahead on its next RPG.

“This’ll be a lively, cathartic panel,” Douse explains. “And probably the last time you’ll see the guys talk about BG3s development and we close the book and put our heads down for what’s next.” The end of a long road After starting development in 2016, Larian Studios has spent eight years crafting Baldur’s Gate 3 into the experience we have today.

Following a lengthy early access period, the RPG now sits as one of the greats across PC, PlayStation and Xbox. While Larian isn’t working on Baldur’s Gate 4, instead opting for a new project, we expect to see a lot of BG3’s predicted in whatever they do next. With the studio’s love of its internal Divinity IP — the studio spent five years of development hell on a board game version — the team could be working on Divinity: Original Sin 3.

Whatever the case,.
