The judge Prue Leith has confessed to being 'more reckless' now as she feels she's 'near the end'. In a candid conversation with Bella magazine, the 84-year-old hinted at adopting a more free-spirited attitude in her later years. She explained: "Because I'm so near the end, I'm a bit more reckless now.

What's the worst that can happen?" Saying that she's starting to adopt a 'why not?' approach to things that look like 'good fun' she added: "If I was about to try to get a job on Bake Off I probably wouldn't walk down a catwalk in Latex with goth make-up on, but now it's too late. If I want to do it and it sounds like good fun I just think, 'why not?'" Prue put this attitude into action during London Fashion Week in September when she made her debut catwalk appearance. She shared her unique experience walking the 20 metre runway for fashion brand Vin + Omi: "Two days ago, I got dressed, well, barely dressed, in a skintight black latex number held together with corset-style red cord.

I was here to march down a catwalk in front of 500 members of the press and public." Despite initial nerves, she was encouraged by the crowd's response: "But in spite of all that, I just loved it. The crowd could not have been kinder, whooping and hollering at the gallant old lady (84 and counting) giving it a go.

I'm just such an egotist, lapping up the attention." The baking show has been a hit since its debut over 14 years ago, consistently gaining popularity, and even saw Prue step into Mary Ber.
