This week many people were thrilled to see the return of The Great British Bake Off . From a Hollywood handshake to a technical challenge and an array of soggy bottoms - many were overjoyed to have the beloved show back on their screens. However, it may come as a surprise it's been a full decade since one of the most memorable moments in Bake Off history.

It was 10 years ago we witnessed Iain Watters' Baked Alaska being tossed into the bin. Coined "Bin gate" by viewers, 2014 was a year of high drama in the tent when Diana Beard removed her competitor's Baked Alaska from the freezer. Audiences were shocked when his dessert began to melt on the workbench.

Despite his best efforts, Iain was unable to rescue his Showstopper. "You've got your own freezer, haven't you?" Diana retorted after Iain likened his dessert to "soup." It's a moment many of us will struggle to forget.
