MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut criticized the Maharashtra government on Thursday in light of the Badlapur encounter by Thane police on September 23. He noted that the High Court remarked that the encounter does not appear genuine, describing it as a fake encounter. Raut further emphasized that the issue is not about truth or falsehood, but about ensuring strict punishment for rapists.

Such cases should not be delayed in fast-track courts; there must be speedy justice. However, he stated that using encounters for political gain is unacceptable. Raut also remarked that this is the first time he has witnessed Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis struggling to determine who is the 'Singham.

' He pointed out that there seems to be a competition between them to take credit for the encounter." "Devendra Fadnavis considers himself 'Singham'. There is a tussle between both of them (Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde) to decided who is 'Singham'.

They consider themselves 'Singham', which was a film based on an imaginary story," added Raut..
