Login When the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade more than two years ago, advocates for a women’s right to choose feared the same conservative backlash would reach Australia. The battle is now on – or rather back on, with activists rallying to protect the rights to legal abortion won years ago.

“After abortions were decriminalised in Queensland in 2018, our focus shifted to access. Now we are seeing these really worrying challenges to abortion rights in Queensland and South Australia,” said Jill McKay, chief executive of Children by Choice.
