FARGO — Staff at Sanford are making sure every family gets in the holiday spirit with their new bundle of joy. On Friday, Dec. 20, the family birth center hosted its annual Christmas tradition in south Fargo.
It's called "Babies in Christmas stockings." Each family receives a Christmas stocking for their newborn. For Christmas 2024, four girls and one boy participated in the tradition.
It's a special moment for the families and staff. "We get to have a birthday every day at work, so that's our favorite thing. You know, working holidays can be hard, but when you get to be around other families that are having such a special moment, it's really an honor," Jackee Haak, with the Sanford Director Family Birth Center, says.
Approximately 2,800 babies are born at Sanford each year. They say they deliver about eight babies a day at the medical center..
