HONG KONG (TR) – As a part of crackdown on an international prostitution ring featuring current and former adult video (AV) actresses from Japan, Hong Kong police last week announced the arrest of 35 persons, including star Japanese AV actress Miru. According to the Hong Kong newspaper Ming Pao on November 21, the arrests were the result of a joint operation that involved law enforcement in Japan, Singapore and Macau. Over the course of a year, sales reached approximately 20 million HK dollars (approximately 400 million yen), with about half going to the prostitutes. According to the newspaper, three current and former Japanese AV actresses were arrested in Singapore, with one of them being 25-year-old Miru. Miru made her debut as an exclusive actress for label S1 in 2018 at the age of 19.
She is a rising star in Japan’s AV industry. In 2019, she was named “Best New Actress” at an annual event held by distributor FANZA. Miru came to Hong Kong for a meet-and-greet with fellow actress Hikari Aozora, who was not mentioned by Hong Kong police as a suspect, under the theme “Two Angels in Paradise” in.
