QUEENSBURY—Austin Lane passed away on August 10, 2024, surrounded by his family at Albany Medical Center after a complication with his valiant fight with brain cancer. Born on March 22, 1988, in New Braunfels, TX, to Faith (Gorton) Speck, he was raised and lived in Glens Falls, NY. He graduated from Glens Falls High School in 2006 where he participated on the football, baseball and ski teams.

Thereafter, Austin became one of the local’s favorite bartenders, where he spent many years before he began his career at Saratoga Eagle, and quickly excelled at his dream sales job, making lifelong friends along the way. Austin enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, men’s softball and he loved skiing and snowboarding, but his greatest joy in life was coaching his kids’ sports teams. Austin and Samantha fell in love in the Fall of 2011, after knowing each other their whole lives, growing up on the same street for most of their young lives.

One of Austin’s most exciting moments was his hole in one on July 7, 2015, three days after getting engaged to Samantha, he called it his “meant to be” week. Austin and Samantha welcomed three beautiful children into this world, and they will forever be Austin’s greatest pride and joys of his life. He was a passionate fan of the Los Angeles Raiders, the Baltimore Orioles and whatever team Lebron James played for.

Austin was carefree and always lived life to the fullest, even during all of the trials and tribulations life threw his.
