Wednesday, October 2, 2024 The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is set to host the first-ever K-Tourism Roadshow in Atlanta at Ponce City Market on October 5-6, 2024. This two-day celebration, titled Experience Korea: The Next Chapter , will showcase the rich and diverse elements of Korean culture, including K-Food, K-Fashion, K-Beauty, and K-Medical, offering Atlantans a unique glimpse into Korean tourism. The event is part of a broader effort to promote Korea as a premier travel destination in the Southeastern U.
S. Atlanta, with its growing Korean community and significant business investments from Korean companies such as SK, Hyundai, and LG, represents a key market for expanding tourism. According to Heejin Cho, Executive Director of KTO’s New York Office, “We aim to drive new demand for Korean tourism by engaging with both mainstream audiences and the next generation of overseas Koreans.
” Delta Airlines’ recent expansion of direct flights between Atlanta and Incheon International Airport, now offering three daily non-stop routes, has further solidified the city’s importance as a gateway to Korea. Highlights of the roadshow will include: As of August 2024, more than 860,000 U.S.
tourists visited Korea, marking a 23% increase from the previous year. The Korea Tourism Organization hopes to build on this momentum by extending its marketing efforts into emerging markets like Atlanta and other Southeas.
