Improving on all of the faults of the first device, the Asus ROG Ally X takes handheld gaming to a whole new level. With so many gaming handhelds hitting the market over the past two years, Asus has launched a new edition of the Asus ROG Ally , which was released back in June 2023. The new Asus ROG Ally X is more of an evolution rather than a revolution of the original, featuring improvements on some of the issues which myself and the community had, including battery life, storage solutions and memory.

We awarded the Asus ROG Ally five stars in our review because, despite the device having some flaws, it provided an unprecedented handheld gaming experience at the time. Since the release of the original, however, we've seen the likes of the Lenovo Legion Go , Steam Deck OLED , MSI Claw and other handheld PCs hit the market. But, in my opinion, none of them have stacked up to Asus' device.

After originally previewing the Asus ROG Ally X at Computex , I was nothing but excited to get my hands on the device with it, as it seemed like Asus had delivered on the improvements which it promised. After spending some time with the Asus ROG Ally X, it has not only fulfilled my expectations but exceeded them. The Asus ROG Ally X provides you with all of the features from its first gaming handheld, with improvements made to bring the device up to a whole new standard.

One thing to note is that the Asus ROG Ally X price is higher than the original device, coming in at £799 / $799 / AU$1599.
