Pune: With voting for assembly polls barely a month away, possible contenders and candidates from Hadapsar constituency have taken to the streets to reach out to maximum voters. Candidates Yogesh Sasane (NCP-SP), Prashant Jagtap (NCP-SP), Nana Bhangire ( Shiv Sena ), Mahadev Babar (Shiv Sena-UBT), and current MLA Chetan Tupe ( NCP ), have been reaching out to people, seeking votes and making new promises. Despite being the highest tax-paying ward in the city, the area has been grappling with various issues such as traffic congestion and poor road condition for years.

With a history of anti-incumbency, new candidates are emerging in the race, hoping to win the assembly seat. Three contenders each from both Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have expressed interest to contest from Hadapsar assembly seat. The constituency assembly includes Hadapsar, Undri, Kondhwa, Mohamedwadi, Katraj, Fatima Nagar, Yewalewadi, NIBM, Ramtekdi, etc.

While the constituent assembly has a recent history of anti-incumbency, Tupe said it will not be a factor this time. "My father, Vithal Tupe, was re-elected multiple times, and so was Balasaheb Shivarkar. I trust my work and believe that the voters are happy with my work.

Recently, the Hadapsar Metro received sanction, which I had promised. Also, many important roads were expanded during my tenure. With regards to the problems of traffic snarls and road conditions, these are not unique to this constituency.

The civic body is responsible for the same.
