Question: My daughter has always been on the chunkier side — she has been a size 14 since she was about 16 and gorgeous with it. She moved to Dublin to go to college in September and has piled on the weight. I am not at all concerned about what she looks like — she is a stunning girl at any size — but I am worried about her health.
I was washing her clothes last weekend and I couldn’t believe it when I saw size 20. By no metric is that a healthy size for her. I want to talk to her about this in a way that doesn’t alienate her.
She has made friends with a group in college and they are all a bit heavier and one of them, who is very large, regularly posts about being body positive..
