The Ascott Limited (Ascott), a wholly owned lodging subsidiary of CapitaLand Investment (CLI), has unveiled a significant global brand partnership between its Citadines brand and ClassPass, a popular monthly subscription service offering access to the world’s most extensive fitness platform. This collaboration represents Citadines’ first-ever global partnership with a fitness subscription service, following the launch of its brand signature activ∞ (pronounced ‘activate’) in 2022.
For ClassPass, this marks the largest collaboration it has ever undertaken with an international hospitality brand. Building on the rising wave of the wellness economy, Citadines’ brand signature activ∞ is a carefully designed suite of amenities and programs aimed at encouraging guests to embrace a more active lifestyle and adapt seamlessly to urban living. According to the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), the wellness tourism sector is predicted to experience significant growth, with spending expected to soar from US$651 billion in 2022 to US$868 billion in 2023, and ultimately reaching US$1 trillion by 2024.
Furthermore, the GWI forecasts the global physical activity industry to expand by over 6.7% annually from 2022, projecting it to hit US$1.4 trillion by 2027.
