The plane was seen looping 'low' over the city centre for about 20 minutes. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson confirmed it was a police plane.

They said armed officers attended the scene and the plane was deployed by the National Police Air Service. A force spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.25pm yesterday (25 July) with reports of a man with what was thought to be an imitation firearm in Pete.
