NORRISTOWN, Pa. - The Montgomery County District Attorney's office have announced an investigation into an officer-involved shooting that happened on Sunday. Officials say that shortly before 12 p.

m. on Sunday, Upper Moreland Township Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Commerce Square Apartments in the Willow Grove area. Two officers responded and were let into the apartment by a 83-year-old woman, according to the press release.

Upon entering the apartment, police found a 68-year-old man armed with a handgun, according to the DA's office. Officials say that the man did not drop the handgun when asked by police and eventually began to raise the gun up, which led to the police firing and fatally shooting the man. Montgomery County Detectives responded to the scene per protocol for officer-involved shootings in the county.
