CLEVELAND, Ohio — The high expectations built ahead of the 2024 season have yet to be met by the Browns . The somber tone regarding this team ahead of Week 5, was set during their blowout loss to Dallas in Week 1. Not so much the loss as it was the fashion in how they performed.

Though they’d bounce back with a win in Week 2, they’ve lost consecutive one-possession games to teams they were favored to defeat. Thirty-four teams have made the playoffs after starting 1-3, dating back to the 1990 NFL season, but it’ll take a lot more to turn things around. The six other teams that missed the playoffs include the Bengals, Cardinals, Titans, Giants, Patriots and Panthers.
