Pune: A special court on Thursday deferred till Sept 2 the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea filed by the father of one of the two minors who accompanied the 17-year-old driver of the Porsche Taycan during the May 19 crash. The second minor’s father, who is lodged in Yerawada central jail under judicial custody, filed a regular bail application on Thursday. Defence lawyer Abid Mulani said the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea was postponed because the Pune police crime branch sought time to file a written submission to oppose it.

On the regular bail plea, the court issued a notice directing the investigating officer to file a written submission by Sept 4, Mulani said.
