Anna Maria Dennison OBITUARY Anna Maria (Menotti) Dennison, 94, of West Hartford, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by love. Anna is predeceased by her mother and father, Ave (Botto) and Angelo Menotti, and her brother, Beppino “Joe” Menotti. Anna is also predeceased by her companion of many years, Frederick Houghton, and father to her children, William Dennison.

Anna is survived by her loving daughters and spouses, Cynthia Dennison Buckley (Robert) and Grace Dennison de Atienza (Arthur); her grandchildren, Jessica and Vincent; her nephew and wife, Joseph Menotti (Margaret); and the Dennison, Menotti, Buckley, de Atienza, Soucie, Messner, and Sawicki families. Anna was born in La Spezia, Italy, the beautiful northern Italian Riviera. As a young teenager, Anna endured World War II, as armored tanks parked on their property and imposed chaos and fear.

Anna came to the United States in the 1950’s with her family after her father retired from the family-owned trucking/construction company in La Spezia. Since her move to West Hartford over 65 years ago, Anna has been a parishioner of the Church of St. Timothy.

In her earlier years, she was always volunteering to help there when needed. Throughout her life Anna took several trips to Italy to visit family, friends, and to be by her beloved Ligurian Sea. Anna had a flair for fashion, her trips to Italy always included an extra suitcase so she could fill it with her notable silk scarves and Italian leather s.
