It’s a proud moment for the Indian audience as The Night Manager, starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala, has been nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2024 International Emmy Awards. Announced today, The Night Manager will be up against Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God) from France, The Newsreader Season 2 from Australia, and Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido Season 2 from Argentina. The prestigious awards ceremony will take place in New York City on November 25.

Created by Sandeep Modi, The Night Manager is a television series that is the the remake of the acclaimed British series from 2016, based on John Le Carré’s novel. The show stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sobhita Dhulipala in lead roles, with Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, and Saswata Chatterjee in key parts. Produced by Banijay Asia and The Ink Factory, it was released on Disney + Hotstar.

In an interview with NDTV, Anil Kapoor, who plays Shelly, an arms dealer in The Night Manager, shared his reaction to the show’s nomination for the International Emmys. Saying that the team is thrilled at the nomination, Anil said, “I just couldn’t believe it. I called Sandeep (Sandeep Modi, the director) and the entire team.

We were messaging each other.” Director Sandeep Modi, too, took to Instagram to write a gratitude note. “In tears of disbelief and joy.

Thank you team. Thank you, God,” his post read. The Night Manager marked the digital debut of Aditya Roy Kapur.
