Business owners based on Montgomery Street, including DTA Architects, Miller Hairdressing, Freckles beauty salon, Chimes, Wheatsheaf house, Little Lux, Confetti Hair Club and the Village Chippy told Lanarkshire Live that although they welcome the demolition of the troubled homeless unit - "a thorn in the side" of many people living and working in the Village - they insist they were not consulted on the construction work. Lindsay House ceased operating in November of last year, and now plans are being finalised to develop new affordable housing there. This will begin with initial works to prepare for the demolition of the current building, starting today (Monday, August 5) when the contractor will take over the site.
