The Andhra Pradesh government would hold Revenue Sadassulu at the village level across the state for 45 days with the aim of resolving all land-related issues. The meetings will start on August 16 and end on Sept 30. This would be preceded by a formal launch event in the districts on August 15.
Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had promised the people during the elections that he would repeal the Land Titling Act and resolve all land-related issues. After assuming charge, he signed the order repealing the land titling act and later the decision won the assembly nod. The chief minister started a grievances programme in the Telugu Desam central office, where over half a lakh grievances were received from the public in the past 50 days.
A majority of these were related to land. Hence, Naidu’s decision to conduct the Revenue Sadassulu. On the CM’s instructions, the revenue department issued guidelines for the Sadassulu.
A team of officers from relevant departments would visit each and every revenue village and obtain representations from those having land- related issues. Specific reference is to those affected by land grabbing and Sec. 22A manipulation.
A senior IAS officer would be designated as the district special officer, who would finalise the district schedule and monitor the village/mandal level petitions as also the receiving/disposing mechanism and ensure redressal within a specified time. All the petitions will be entered online in a separate window created by RTGS .
