The grand idol of Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai’s most revered Ganesh idols , was immersed in the Arabian Sea off Girgaon beach on Wednesday, marking the end of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Thousands of devotees flocked to the beach to bid farewell to the beloved deity during the immersion procession. Among the crowd was Anant Ambani , son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani , who attended the final farewell to the idol.

The Ambani family, known for their elaborate Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, has a long-standing tradition of visiting the Lalbaugcha Raja during the festival. The immersion procession, which started on Monday night, saw the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja slowly making its way through the streets of Mumbai, drawing massive crowds. The famous Ganesh idol, revered for its divine presence, reached Chinchpokli around 6:30 pm on its way to Girgaon beach.

Anant Ambani had also visited the pandal earlier to offer prayers and take part in the celebrations. Before the immersion, the grand Lalbaugcha Raja idol’s massive 20 kg gold crown, which had been donated by Anant Ambani, was carefully removed. The crown is a symbol of the Ambani family’s devotion to the deity and their long-standing association with the Lalbaugcha Raja.
