Andy Burnham announced an all-new Bee Network bus service is on its way to Bolton and Wigan. The metro mayor announced the 615 bus service in a post on social media on Saturday (October 5). We can also confirm the first new service to be added to @BeeNetwork .

🐝 Residents in Aspull will soon be reconnected after their service was lost five years ago. Well done @CllrLauraFlynn for leading the campaign. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Expect more of this as the @BeeNetwork develops! 3/3 pic.

twitter.com/U2hE6DDhpm β€” Andy Burnham (@AndyBurnhamGM) October 5, 2024 It comes after a campaign by Laura Flynn, a councillor for Aspull, Wigan, and a number of other councillors on Bolton Council and Wigan Council, in response to changes to a pre-Bee Network bus service in 2020. The changes to what was the 715 bus service cut off a number of residents from the network.

As of the end of the month, the 615 bus service is to make its way into the borough via Bolton Road / Chorley Road / De Havilland Way before a circuit of Middlebrook Retail Park and to make its way out of the borough via De Havilland Way / Chorley Road / Bolton Road on the way to Wigan Town Centre. So proud to achieve the FIRST new bus 🚌 route across GtrMcr for #Whelley , #NewSprings #Aspull . This is vital for residents of Bolton Rd who’ve been without a bus since the private company cut it 5 yrs ago.

Thanks to @AndyBurnhamGM for making it possible with #BeeNetwork 🐝 pic.twitter.com/Abc3gQAPdj β€” Cllr Laura Flynn (@Cl.
