“Amitabh Bachchan watched Prabhas starrer Salaar twice,” reveals Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin

One such bond is between Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and Telugu superstar Prabhas, as revealed by director Nag Ashwin during the promotion of his latest film, Kalki 2898 AD. According to Ashwin, while Prabhas has always been in awe of Amitabh Bachchan, it was surprising to discover that the admiration was mutual. Amitabh Bachchan, who played a pivotal role in Kalki 2898 AD, is a self-proclaimed fan of Prabhas, particularly after watching his performance in Salaar Part 1.“Prabhas is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan”: Nag AshwinAccording to a report by Indian Express, Nag Ashwin recalled an anecdote about the first scene they shot with Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama. Prabhas, who was present on set, was visibly overwhelmed by the presence of the Bollywood icon. “Prabhas garu is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan, he was overwhelmed,” Ashwin said, “Prabhas was even more reserved than usual, standing in the background and expressing disbelief that he would soon be acting alongside Big B.”However, it wasn’t just Prabhas who was starstruck. Amitabh Bachchan was equally thrilled to share the screen with Prabhas. Ashwin recounted, “What was even more surprising was to see how big a fanboy Bachchan sir is of Prabhas. He went back and said, ‘Can you believe it is the Baahubali, your fans are going to be so angry because Nagi is making me hit you. After watching Salaar: Part 1, Bachchan personally called Prabhas to praise his performance, expressing how much he enjoyed the film. “On one of the last days of the shoot, after Salaar was released, he was so excited, he called him and said, ‘I watched it twice, and you were amazing in the film,’" Ashwin recalled.Kalki 2898 AD, which also stars Deepika Padukone, has seen tremendous success both in theaters and on OTT platforms.
