HOLD onto your seats, folks — a first-of-its-kind rollercoaster is coming soon. Adrenaline junkies can test out Massachusett 's Six Flags New England's latest ride, the Quantum Accelerator, set to open in 2025. The steampunk-themed ride, including hoverbike vehicles, will join the park's line of a huge waterpark and 11 other coasters.

Passengers will hold onto handlebars as the attraction launches them into twists and turns. The coaster features over 2,600 feet of track and 11 airtime moments, with a runtime of about two minutes and 14 seconds. Unlike traditional coasters with an uphill climb, the Quantum Accelerator will begin with a rapid launch from zero to 30 miles in mere seconds.

Read More on Travel The ride will include a second launch in the middle, catapulting thrillseekers at up to 45 miles per hour. Passengers will hug the ground as they tilt over 90 degrees around curves. Quantum Accelerator will also be New England's first dual-launch straddle coaster.

It will include eight passenger trains with two-seat rows. Most read in Travel Visitors of all ages are encouraged to take a lap on the family-friendly ride. Riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.
