Saturday, September 7, 2024 American Airlines has announced a new seasonal direct flight from Athens International Airport (AIA) to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), starting June 6, 2025. This new route will mark the airline’s fourth daily flight connecting the United States and Greece, further expanding its transatlantic services during the summer travel season. Charlotte, North Carolina, serves as American Airlines’ second-largest hub, providing connections to over 130 destinations across North America.

The addition of this route will complement the airline’s current seasonal services to Athens from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The new daily flights will be operated using a Boeing 777-200, one of the airline’s most advanced aircraft, offering a comfortable experience for long-haul passengers.

According to the tentative schedule, flights will depart from Athens at 12:00 noon, arriving in Charlotte at 16:30. The return flight from Charlotte will depart at 19:00 and arrive in Athens at 12:20 the following day, allowing passengers seamless connections to North American cities.
