Film fans have been left captivated by a hidden gem of a psychological horror film on Amazon Prime, with many drawing comparisons to Jordan Peele's horror hit, Get Out. Nanny, which was released in 2022, marked the directorial debut of Nikyatu Jusu. The plot revolves around an undocumented Senegalese nanny named Aisha (played by Anna Diop), who is trying to balance her demanding job looking after a wealthy couple's child and her longing to bring her son, whom she was forced to leave behind, to America.

However, her time with the family is fraught with problems. The mother, Amy (Michelle Monaghan) becomes envious of the bond Aisha forms with her child and underpays her, leading to escalating tensions. Meanwhile, the father, Adam (Morgan Spector), seems to be living a secret life away from his wife and child.

In this tense environment, Aisha starts to suffer from terrifying hallucinations and blackouts that could risk her job as a nanny.
