BBC's Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby is currently in its sixth season, but host Monica Gelatti has admitted that there's one challenge while filming the show that never gets easier. The chef paired up with Giles Coren since 2017, before he left the BBC show in 2022 with Rob Rinder taking the reigns. The show explores the hospitality world in some of the world's most unique hotels.
Together the hosts uncover the meticulous level of detail needed to pull off impeccable service, whilst learning about the world cultures, personal stories and vision that is fascinatingly different in each property. But Monica admitted, exclusively to Express.co.
uk , that she finds leaving her family behind to be quite the struggle. She said: "We're travelling. We're leaving family behind.
Well, you know, for me, I'm leaving my family behind. "And, you know, after a while, the travelling can get quite exhausting. And then, you know, I think after three, four days, when you're away from family consecutively, it starts to get a bit hard to be away all the time.
" She added that she is also often hit by jet lag, as she explained the strenuous fiming schedule, saying: "We tend to film over six days to get the show. So I'll have three days on my own, and then I'll have three days of Rob, or the other way around. "So you've got to put travel on either side.
When we traveled out to Bhutan, for example, that was one and a half days travel, jet lag on top of that, you know. So you almost need to allow.
