Amanda Abbington said she was relieved to be able to leave Strictly Come Dancing after she had a cancer scare. The Sherlock star has been hitting headlines after she complained about her Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice after taking part in the BBC dance competition last year. In a new interview, she detailed finding two lumps in her breast during her 'final week' on the show before she quit. She said: "I’d got the all-clear after a mammogram a couple of months before." Amanda said that she went to the toilet and came back, recalling her conversation to Giovanni Pernice: "‘I’m going to go to the hospital now because I found two lumps in my breast this morning’." He allegedly told her "let me know how it goes". She said to The Sun : "It was the catalyst I’d been sort of waiting for, which is terrible.
But that’s what I was thinking, that it was a healthier option than being in that room." The star admitted there was a part of her was thought "OK, I have to deal with this now instead. Phew.
