Amanda Abbington broke down almost immediately during her candid Channel 4 News interview surrounding her Strictly Come Dancing bullying scandal. Speaking to fellow contestant Krishnan-Guru Murthy, the actress, 50, welled up as the news reporter asked how she was doing. Almost straight away, Amanda's eyes filled with tears after being asked if she was okay amid the scandal.

With a shaky voice, she said: "I'm okay. I mean, this is not a normal interview." Amanda was interviewed at the Park Theatre in North London where she is currently rehearsing the play When It Happens To You.

She explained to the presenter: "This play has certainly reinforced my belief that you can be in a rehearsal room and be nurtured and looked after. Because you start to think, ‘oh, you know, am I going mad?’ but I'm not mad, as you know, but yeah it's been brutal and relentless and unforgiving." She also hit out at Giovanni after a spokesperson for the dancer said: "The BBC has shared allegations from the inquiry with Giovanni, who has cooperated fully.

None of the allegations carried in the Sun on Sunday are included in any shape or form." She labelled his actions during their partnership as "bullying" and "very upsetting". During the candid chat, Amanda also discussed the apology BBC Director General Tim Davies shared to previous contestants.

She continued: "I'm glad he's acknowledged it. I read an article saying, ‘Amanda wants to bring down Strictly’. No, I love Strictly, I would love to hav.
