Friday, August 2, 2024 Alstom, a global leader in sustainable and intelligent mobility, has successfully initiated the deployment of the first two trains on Singapore’s Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit (BPLRT) line. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore officially received the system on July 16, 2024, signaling the commencement of the phased delivery of this comprehensive turnkey solution. Awarded the contract in 2018, Alstom undertook the modernization and renewal of the BPLRT system, which included a significant upgrade to its signalling technology.

The current Alstom Cityflo 550 fixed block rail control system is being replaced with the cutting-edge Cityflo 650 Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system.
