First, there was the sequined gown by Esteban Cortazar that she previously wore at the London premiere of Carol . Then there was the reworked Alexander McQueen dress, which she had transformed into a top that she could pair with trousers – showing what a dash of imagination can do in the world of red-carpet fashion.

During the 2023 awards season, the actor rewore a series of looks, including an old Oscars gown by Maison Margiela to the BAFTAs, as well as a Loewe suit at the Independent Spirit Awards, which she first wore in Cannes in 2018. More recently, at Louis Vuitton’s autumn/winter 2024 show, Blanchett brought back out the silky blue top she wore at the 2023 Oscars to celebrate creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s decade at the helm of the French fashion house.
