Channel 5's 'All Creatures Great and Small' delighted viewers with the latest developments surrounding Siegfried Farnon, played by Samuel West, and Richard Carmody, portrayed by James Anthony-Rose. This episode saw them visiting Miss Grantley, played by Juliet Aubrey, concerning her ailing goats, yet the encounter took a more personal turn for Siegfried. Carmody picked up on Siegfried's budding interest in Miss Grantley and nudged him to deepen their acquaintance, which could stir some disappointment among fans who had hoped to see Siegfried spark a romance with Mrs Hall, Anna Madeley's character.
Away from the camera, Samuel West enjoys a relationship with playwright Laura Wade, with whom he has cohabited since 2007. Despite a brief separation in 2011, they reunited, and in an interview with The Guardian during their time apart, Samuel mused: "I would very much like my own family, but I would prefer not to say if I've got close to it. When you run a theatre, as I have done in the past, it becomes your baby.
" He further elaborated on his domestic life, stating: "I've lived with the playwright Laura Wade, and the combination of writer and actor was a good mix. But I love being an uncle to [his brother] Joe's children; I take that responsibility very seriously." Samuel's personal connection to Laura Wade's work transcended their off-screen relationship when he landed a role in 'The Riot Club,' the movie adaptation of Wade's acclaimed play 'Posh'.
The couple celebrated the birth.
