When Alexa Chung was announced as the new creative director and designer of British heritage brand Barbour , it made sense. Alexa was, after all, the one responsible for making a simple waxed jacket one of the chicest must-have items for festivals, and knew how to pair wellies with a slip dress better than almost anyone. And now, after seeing her first collection in her new role, it’s safe to say that she was the perfect person for the job.

The Edit by Alexa Chung landed in stores and online on September 19, with a campaign shot by Tim Walker and a collection of clothes that managed to incorporate Alexa’s iconic vintage-inspired style with the brand’s classic heritage. There are waxed jackets and wellies, of course, as well as cardigans , jumpers and quilted maxi coats , with each item named after some of Alexa’s close friends and family.
