DECATUR — Alan Lansdell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away on July 23rd, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on March 25th, 1947, Alan lived a life marked by love, service, and adventure. Alan proudly served his country in the United States Army, with a deployment to Vietnam, where his bravery and dedication shone through.

After his military service, he earned a degree from Mercer University and built a successful career as a corporate attorney, earning the respect of his peers and clients. Alan was passionate about the outdoors, especially fishing, and spent many peaceful hours on the water. His adventurous spirit led him on safaris in Africa and travels to St.

Petersburg, Russia, experiences that enriched his life and provided countless stories to share. In 1970, Alan met Pam Lansdell, the love of his life. They married on April 22nd, 1972, beginning over five decades of love and partnership.

Together, they built a beautiful family and created a lifetime of memories. Alan found immense joy in the lives of his five grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them and offering unwavering support and love. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Lansdell; his sister, Barbara Adams; his sons, Thomas (Sharilynn) and John Lansdell; and his five grandchildren, Mason, Miyah, Michael, Alex, and Samuel.
