Doha, Qatar: Al Duhail SC yesterday announced the signing of Qatar defender Homam Al Amin from Al Gharafa Club in a swap deal to strengthen the team’s ranks ahead of the upcoming Ooredoo Stars League season. In return, Al Gharafa contracted Al Duhail trio of Mohamed Muntari, Rabeh Yahya and Asim Madibo as part of the same deal. “Within the framework of cooperation and relations between Al Duhail and Al Gharafa clubs, the management of the two clubs agreed to conclude a reciprocal deal that stipulates that players Mohamed Muntari, Asim Madibo and Rabeh Yahya will join Al Gharafa club in exchange for the transfer of Homam Al Amin to Al Duhail,” Al Duhail said in a statement yesterday.

Al Duhail have already signed summer transfer deals, roping in Spaniard Luis Alberto, coming from the Italian club Lazio, and goalkeeper Amir Hassan, coming from Al Arabi Club on loan for one season. Al Duhail, who were ranked sixth in the Qatar Stars League standings last season, will take on Qatar SC at the Khalifa International Stadium on August 10 in their opening match of the season. Al Gharafa also signed Florinel Coman of Romania for three seasons, and Spaniard Joselu of Real Madrid, in addition to Palestinian Jamal Hamed.

The club also renewed its contract with South Korean defender Jang Hyun-soo for three seasons as well. Meanwhile, Qatar SC signed Abdulaziz Al Ansari from Al Arabi. The 32-year-old Al Ansari will join the team’s training camp in Alicante, Spain, in preparation for.
