Aisling Annacotty 6 Avenue Utd 2; THE 2024/25 Junior Soccer season kicked off on Saturday evening when Limerick District League champions, Aisling Annacotty took on their Clare counterparts, Avenue United in the Munster Champions Cup in Annacotty. Aisling have been busy in the the close season adding a number of big signings to an already strong squad. One of those, former Pike player Conor Coughlan stole the show on his return to his old club, scoring four times in a highly impressive 6-2 win.

On a beautiful evening for football Aisling took control with early goals from Paul Brennan and a wonder strike from Coughlan. The same player scored again with a brilliant individual strike to make it 3-0. Avenue pulled one back from Ronan Kerin before Leon Daly made it 4-1 with a super chip over the keeper.

Former Pike star Stephen McGann received a second yellow to bring the visitors down to 10 men before half time to make it an uphill battle. However after the break Eliaz Kunz pulled one back for Avenue to make it 4-2 with a nice chip over Josh Coady. The home side had the final say however as however as Conor Coughlan got another two super goals to round off an impressive result.
