AIRBUS have made sure they will soar their way into 2025 after claiming a crucial Cymru North derby triumph in dramatic fashion. Top-three rivals Buckley Town provided the Boxing Day opposition and it was the league-leading Wingmakers who secured another three-point haul courtesy of a 3-2 outcome - but only after a dramatic finish. Max Moore’s second goal of the afternoon in the 89th minute appeared to have secured a point for Buckley, but Mark Allen’s hosts made sure of victory with Jake Eyre’s penalty.

Airbus managed to get their noses in front after 20 minutes as Kaiden Cooke netted from outside the box. Asa Hamilton’s visitors weren’t just there to make up the numbers, though, and they were able to level things up five minutes from half-time. A foul in the box led to a penalty award and although Danny Holland’s spot kick was saved by Keighan Jones, Moore (pictured right) successfully tucked away the rebound.

Visiting keeper Ryan Goldston was an impressive figure when the second half got underway. He produced saves to deny Danny Warren, Josh Stevenson and Jordan Evans, but Airbus were able to regain their lead on the hour. After Stevenson’s header struck the crossbar, Warren played the ball to Nathan Williams, who found the back of the net from the edge of the box.

Then came the dramatic finale as Airbus made it 12 wins on the bounce. Moore got in behind the Wingmakers’ defence to dramatically tie things up once more. However, a penalty was awarded a minute.
