This low-cost airline has announced an increase in flight operations as part of its winter schedule, aiming to improve connectivity from three major northeastern destinations: Guwahati, Agartala, and Imphal. This strategic expansion not only facilitates greater access for travelers but also positions Guwahati as a crucial hub for both domestic and international flights.

Increased Flight Operations: A Positive Shift As part of its initiative to bolster winter services across the country, Air India Express has significantly ramped up its operations in the region. The airline has increased its weekly flights from Guwahati from 63 last winter to an impressive 106 flights this season. This enhancement reflects the airline’s commitment to catering to the growing demand for air travel in the Northeast.

In Imphal, the number of weekly flights has surged to 34, marking an increase of 20 flights compared to the previous winter schedule. The addition of Agartala as a station in September 2024 has further contributed to this expansion. Since then, flights from Agartala have risen from 14 to 21 weekly, with direct connections to Guwahati and Kolkata.
