Baked oats are warming , flavoursome, and, most importantly, filling—ideal for fueling yourself in cold weather. While most recipes call for a hot oven to bake the nutritious oat mixture until cake-like, one baked oats fan has revealed you can use an air fryer instead. Sharing their recipe on the Reddit threat r/goodrestrictionfood, a user with the alias ‘gardenfaiiri’ claimed to have “perfected” their air fryer baked oats.

They wrote: “My oats this morning were cranberry and toasted almond. Baked oats are my favourite breakfast at the moment!” Aside from being nutritious and tasty, the best thing about these air fryer -baked oats is that they can be easily customised. Ingredients 30g rolled oats 50ml milk 50g banana 1/4 tsp baking powder A pinch of salt Cinnamon The Reddit poster suggested: “Mix in berries, nuts, chocolate chips or dried fruit.

” Add a handful of these ingredients for the topping, and add more milk, nut butter or yoghurt before baking or once cooked. Method First, mash your banana in an oven-safe bowl that fits inside your air fryer. Add the dry ingredients (oats, baking powder, salt and cinnamon), and a little protein powder if you use it.

Add the milk and mix the dry ingredients into a thick paste. Once combined, add your “mix-in” ingredients: chopped nuts, chocolate, dried fruit, berries, nut butter, or yoghurt. Stir the mixture once more before putting the dish in the air fryer at 180C for 10 to 15 minutes.
