Thursday, September 19, 2024 Air France and Madagascar Airlines Forge New Commercial Cooperation to Enhance Air Travel Between France and Madagascar Coinciding with the IFTM Top Resa trade fair, Air France and Madagascar Airlines have today announced a new commercial cooperation agreement aimed at boosting air connectivity between France and Madagascar. Introduction of an Interline Agreement Starting October 1, 2024, both airlines will launch an interline marketing agreement, enabling passengers to seamlessly book flights operated by either airline on a single ticket. Air France will cover routes between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Antananarivo-Ivato, while Madagascar Airlines will operate domestic flights from Antananarivo to key cities like Nosy Be, Fort Dauphin, Majunga, and Tamatave.

Streamlined Flight Schedules for Smoother Transfers As part of the collaboration, passengers connecting through Antananarivo will enjoy the convenience of through-checking their luggage to their final destination, bypassing the need to recheck it in Antananarivo. Additionally, the two airlines will synchronize their flight schedules at Antananarivo-Ivato, ensuring faster and more efficient connections between Air France’s long-haul flights and Madagascar Airlines’ domestic services, cutting down on total travel time. Exploring Further Collaboration In addition to these improvements, the airlines are also exploring the possibility of a codeshare agreement that would allow Madagascar Airlin.
