Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Air China has launched its fourth route to Milan, further solidifying its presence in the China-Italy market. The new route, which commenced operations on July 29th, connects Chengdu with Milan’s Malpensa Airport, offering three weekly flights operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This new service adds to Air China’s already extensive network, bringing the total number of weekly frequencies between China and Milan to 21.

The Chengdu-Milan route operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the flight schedule as follows: The Airbus A350-900 used on this route is configured with 312 seats across two classes, providing more than 3,500 seats each way per month. This strategic addition is expected to cater to the growing demand for travel between China and Italy, offering passengers more options and flexibility. With the launch of this new route, Air China now operates four regular connections to Milan Malpensa Airport, utilizing both Airbus A330-200 and A350-900 aircraft.

The airline’s routes connecting Milan to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Wenzhou are designed to facilitate both business and leisure travel, underscoring Milan’s importance as a key destination in Air China’s European network. Additionally, Air China operates routes from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Beijing and Hangzhou, further expanding its footprint in Italy. Air China’s expansion in the China-Italy market reflects the increasing demand for connectivity between these.
