Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Air Canada today issued an update on its ongoing contract negotiations with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). Air Canada’s goal remains to secure a mutually beneficial settlement with its pilots, recognizing their professionalism and significant contributions to the airline. Substantial progress has been made in the discussions, and the three-week cooling-off period provides ample time to resolve any remaining issues.

Air Canada is fully committed to continuing meaningful negotiations throughout this period. To ensure customer peace of mind, Air Canada has implemented a goodwill rebooking policy, offering flexibility for those with imminent travel plans. Starting today, customers with bookings for travel on Air Canada flights between September 15 and 23, 2024, can modify their travel plans at no additional cost.

Goodwill Rebooking Polic y This policy applies to all Air Canada-operated flights, including those under Air Canada mainline, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz or PAL Airlines, as well as Air Canada Vacations (an additional fee may apply for hotels). It’s important to note that Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz or PAL Airlines will not be affected by the end of the cooling-off period, as these pilots are not part of the ALPA negotiations. Additionally, to provide greater visibility for customers with special requests, some services will be temporarily unavailable.
